Today was Teacher Appreciation Day here in my town. Staples and Office Depot both gave away goody bags and then had drawing for prizes. I got a bag from both, but settled in at Staples for the long haul. I made out like a bandit! A $20 Staples gift card, gift cards for dinner and a movie and a $20 gift card for a music store here in town! The goody bags were full of coupons, sticky notes, pens, staples, binder clips etc. All in all a good Saturday morning!
It even counts as family time since my two oldest came with me - can you believe they begged to come? Begged to get up at 7am on a summer Saturday and hang out in office supply stores? Yep, partly it's the free breakfast goodies both stores offer (Office Depot has a better breakfast, but Staples has more raffle prizes) and partly it's the thrill of winning (or watching their mama win) but partly it's just because this is the official start of the schools season for us.
I just stopped by the house to drop my son off so that Moira and I can go have a girls' day out - haircuts, lunch and clothes shopping! It's also Oklahoma's tax free weekend, so all those back-to-school clothes and shoes are tax-free! Woohoo!
While I'm out shopping, you should check out this great Pinterest linky party hosted by Debbie from Rainbows Within Reach - lots of educational bloggers and pinners have linked up their Pin boards - chances are you'll find lots of great ideas and freebies by following these boards! Mine is #136 - or you can click on my button on the top left sidebar. I'd love it if you'd follow me on Pinterest (or my blog or TPT store for that matter!)
