Update and Flash Giveaway!

Whew! I am taking a quick breather to pop in and say hi! I have been super busy lately - 'tis the season for lots of evening activities apparently!

On Sunday we went to a dinner/raffle at a local church that sponsors my school - they provide "Bags of Blessings" for every child in school on the last day before the Christmas break. In the bags are toiletries, dry goods, a blanket and a toy. For our most needy families they are providing a fully cooked turkey with all the trimmings! The dinner/raffle was their fundraiser to pay for the bags and baskets, so we attended with our school choir.

Monday night I stayed late at school trying to get organized for my Gingerbread unit and Elf on the Shelf. Tonight my daughter had a choir performance at another local church that sponsors my school. They have a Christmas Village all this week, and each night different school choirs perform. They have cookie decorating, ornament making, family pictures, and a host of other activities including to-die-for tomato soup (seriously need the recipe because it is so yummy!) and hot chocolate along with a ton of baked goods - I think I gained 5 lbs just from looking at all the pies and cookies! Did I mention the fried pickles?! And, its all freeeeeee!!!! Let me just say, as a mom of 4, and as a teacher who spends way too much on her classroom lol, it is nice to find fun free activities in the community!

There's nothing tomorrow night, thankfully, but Thursday night is my middle son's Christmas program, also at my school. Friday night is free so far, but Saturday its my oldest son's turn to perform at the Christmas Village! And see, here I thought I was getting off by not having them in sports!

So, if you don't hear from me for a while, I am probably just recovering from sugar overload due to all the baked goods, or trying to catch up on sleep!

I will share that our Elf on the Shelf arrived today from the North Pole. The box was sooo cold (probably because it spent 24 hours in the freezer!) and the kids were sooo excited! When I opened the box the plastic in front of the elf was all frosted over - the kids thought  that was so cool. We read the book and then started brainstorming names. We had everything from Little Boy to Jojo to Toby to Santa's Littlest Elf. At the end of the day we had it narrowed down to two names "Rosco" and"Elfy".

I was seriously pulling for "Elfy" because all I can think of when I hear "Rosco" is the deputy from the Dukes of Hazard show "I'm Rosco P. Coletrane!"  When we left at the end of the day the two names were tied, so we just told the Elf to choose one. I am trying to think of a creative way to combine the two names "Relfy"? "Elfco?" Any ideas?

Alright, now onto the flash giveaway part of my post - for all of you night owls or early birds out there reading, I have a new product that I just uploaded to TPT. Its a bundle of Winter Themed "I have Who has?" games with cvc words (word families). I have a game for each short vowel sound, and I bundled the 5 games together for just $4! Check out these cuties:

So, if you'd like to win a free game bundle, rustle up a comment below and leave me your name and email! I will choose a random winner at lunch time tomorrow after my kiddos leave for the day!

What if the elf was Mr. R. Elfie? The R could be for Rosco and you wouldn't really have to say it? Cuz I'm with ya on the Rosco P. Coletrane!
