I'm sorry to have been MIA for so long! I moved over the Thanksgiving break and our lovely internet provider messed up our order so we didn't get our internet hooked up until today. You can't imagine how much I've missed being able to share with you and read about what everyone else has been doing! I now have a tough choice to make - spend several hours trying to catch up on my favorite blogs or just start from today. I think I'm going to have to go with the latter option, but if anyone knows of a must-read from the past week please let me know!

My next big theme in my classroom is going to be Gingerbread! I love this unit! There are so many neat activities and projects to do, and tons of books to read! This might be my favorite unit of the year :) I'm going to be sharing a lot of Gingerbread ideas in the next week or so, but to start off with, here's a reading list of must-haves for this theme! Just click on the picture to go to Amazon's page for that book - if you buy through my link Amazon does give me a little change - when it adds up I will use it to purchase more books for my classroom! My students thank you!

Can you tell I love the Gingerbread story?! Seriously, I will buy any version I can find because I love using them in lessons on compare and contrast. I'm thinking of having my students adapt the story for our Student Treasures book this year - I'd love to have a class book I could read each year!

Along with my addiction to Gingerbread books, comes an equal addiction to gingerbread clip art. I bought a ton of it, some of which I cannot share freely :( So, I made a Gingerbread unit that is on sale on TPT - appropriate for Kindergarten and 1st grade if you'd like to check it out.

But, never fear, I will be sharing lots of printables for this theme since there are still some artists out there that allow there work to be used in freebies :) Here's a simple Venn Diagram with a Gingerbread theme- you can use it to compare/contrast any 2 gingerbread stories that you read in class! If you have any requests for something with a gingerbread theme, please let me know!

I love your Venn diagram! I love to compare gingerbread books too! We usually do this same activity whole group - but I think I will try to do it with small groups this year! Thanks for sharing! :)
